Mason man accidentally shoots himself in head

CASSOPOLIS -- An accidental shooting injured a Mason Township man Sunday night.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office responded to the accidental shooting at 8:30 p.m. April 6 which occurred in the 69000 block of Calvin Center Road, Mason Township.
Emergency personnel were sent to the scene after the victim called his wife, who contacted 911 dispatch. Keith Robinson, 49, of the 69000 block of Calvin Center Road, was working in a wooded section of his property when the pistol he was carrying accidentally discharged.
The round grazed the back of Robinson's head. Robinson was able to get back to his vehicle and call his wife. His wife then contacted 911. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office and Porter Township fire and ambulance personnel responded to the scene.
Robinson was transported from the scene to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
