Coloma hosts district tourney

NILES -- Local high school baseball and softball teams will have a bit of driving to do when the postseason tournaments come around at the end of May.
Coloma is hosting the Division 2 Baseball and Softball District Tournaments which include Niles. Other teams in the same tournaments include the host Comets, Dowagiac, St. Joseph and Lakeshore.
St. Joseph is the defending baseball champion and Lakeshore is the defending softball champion.
This year's winners will go on to the Regional Tournaments at Gull Lake.
River Valley is hosting the Division 3 Baseball and Softball District Tournaments which include Brandywine and Buchanan. Other teams in those tournaments include Berrien Springs, Bridgman and the host Mustangs.
Brandywine is the defending champion in both the baseball and softball tournaments.
This year's winners will move on to the Regional Tournaments at Constantine.
The softball and baseball district tournaments will be held May 27-31. Regionals are scheduled for June 7. Quarterfinals will be held June 10 with the semifinals and finals scheduled for June 13-14 in Battle Creek.
