S.C. drama team at Volinia Baptist July 14

The Academy of Arts will be performing “Worthy of Praise” on July 14 at Volinia Baptist Church. This moving drama, making its debut this summer, is a new play that Nicole Chavers Stratton compiled and adapted for stage. It contains a series of stories focusing on the lives of several different hymn writers and dramatically portrays their story. The program will be between 40 to 45 minutes in length.

The drama will be punctuated with several powerful hymn pieces relative to the stories, and all of those pieces are fully orchestrated and will be beautifully staged. Your heart will be stirred by the sacred hymns and the inspiring moments in the lives of these people who genuinely see their Savior to “Worthy of Praise.”

The Academy of Arts, a professional Christian drama team from Taylors, S.C., employs professional stage lights, music, sound effects, costumes, props and multi-image techniques to present biblical, historical, patriotic and moral themes on the stage. The group has been “Making the Bible Come Alive” since 1971.

“Worthy of Praise” was written and produced by Mrs. Nicole Chavers Stratton, the artistic director of The Academy of Arts Ministries. Music was arranged and orchestrated by Nicky Chavers. For more information, visit the website at www. theAcademyofArts.org or call 1-864-268-9342.

The church is located at 19526 Marcellus Highway, Decatur. There is no admission charged and the performance is open to the public.

Performance Time is 6 p.m. If you have any other questions regarding the performance please call the church at (269) 646-8050.
