County to host annual hazardous waste collection

The Cass County Board of Commissioners and the Michigan State University Extension Office will host the annual household hazardous waste, electronic waste, tires, glasses, flags and hearing aid collection for county residents from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21, at the Cass County Fairgrounds, located at 590 O’Keefe St., Cassopolis.

There will be a $5 disposal fee assessed to each participant. In addition, there are various charges for tires and a $10 fee for all LED TVs and monitors and a $20 fee for any size old style TVs or CRT monitors with picture tubes. All other items are free.

Glasses and hearing aids will be forwarded to the Lion’s Club; flags collected will be given to the VFW to be properly disposed of with a ceremony.
