Brandywine splits with Mendon, White Pigeon

WHITE PIGEON — Visiting Brandywine needed the eighth tiebreaker to earn a split in BCS Athletic Conference wrestling matches Wednesday at White Pigeon.

The Bobcats and Mendon ended up in a 39-39 tie, but Brandywine earned the victory by scoring first more often than the Hornets.

The Bobcats were defeated by the host Chiefs 58-12.

It was pin or be pinned against Mendon as 10 of the 14 weight classes did not go the full six minutes.

Winning by pin fall for Brandywine were Michael Kachur, Devon Powell, Kaci Lintz, Ryan Buchar, Kristin Hertsel, Sam Burge and Aaron Castro.

Jesse Lockmondy, Corbin Eckenburger and Burge were the lone winners against White Pigeon.
