Several local schools received top honors during the 2015 Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association’s District 6 Marching Festival held Wednesday at Niles High School’s athletic field.

Niles, Edwardsburg and Buchanan all earned the highest possible rating during the event: a Division I ranking.

Bands receiving such a rating “represent an excellent level of performance and musicianship,” according to Niles band director Josh Doe.

Brandywine and Cassopolis both received a rating of Division II, meaning they “represent a good performance, but not worthy of the highest rating because of minor defects in performance or ineffective interpretation. Shows much accomplishment and promise.”

No bands were ranked below Division II.

Below is a list of rankings by school band:

• Brandywine — Division II

• Cassopolis — Division II

• River Valley — Division I

• Bridgman — Division I

• New Buffalo — Division II

• Watervliet — Division I

• Berrien Springs — Division I

• Buchanan — Division I

• Edwardsburg — Division I

• Niles — Division I
