Spirits among visitors to the Cass County COA lawns in Cassopolis were high Thursday afternoon, as hundreds flocked to the grounds during Midwest Energy Cooperative’s first ever Family Movie Night fundraiser.

Nearly 200 people brought out their lawn chairs and blankets to watch Disney/Pixar’s “Up,” which was shown on a massive projector outside the county agency that evening. Even more people stopped by to take a ride on the giant, eight-story long hot air balloon, with lines lasting up until 9 p.m. The event raised at least $4,000 worth of donations for the West Michigan Cancer Center, organizers said.
