Brandywine holds off Homer to move to 17-2

HOMER — On a day that was supposed to feature a tournament and a single night game for the No. 4-rankedf Brandywine baseball team ended up being just one game at Homer.

Weather forced the cancellation of the Lawrence Tournament for the Bobcats, who made the trek to Homer and came away with a 6-4 victory under the lights.

The win improved the Bobcats’ record to 17-2 heading into today’s BCS Athletic Conference West Division showdown with No. 1-ranked Buchanan.

Brandywine banged out 11 hits against No. 10-ranked Homer, including a 3-for-4 performance from Hunter Janowiak. Seth Brown was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Tanner Bourdon 2-for-4. Jeshua Wiese doubled.

Mark Conrad worked the first four innings to earn the victory. Matt Vaughn pitched the final two innings to earn a save.
