Brandywine beats Watervliet for title

MENDON — A six-run fifth inning erased a 6-5 deficit and propelled Brandywine to a come-from-behind victory over Watervliet in the championship game of the Mendon Invitational Saturday.

The Bobcats (7-1) went on to beat the Panthers 11-7 tot the title.

Zack Grishaber picked up the victory in relief of starter Matt Vaughn. Cole Searles pitched the final two innings.

In the opening game, Brandywine used a six-run fourth inning to snap a 4-4 tie and went on to beat the host Hornets 17-6.

Toby Fox (3-1) picked up the victory for the Bobcats.

Tanner Bourdon homered, while Searles and Jordan Hunt both doubled as Brandywine finished with 12 hits.
