LMC wins first BCS West golf jamboree

NEW BUFFALO — Lake Michigan Catholic won the inaugural BCS Athletic Conference West Division boys golf jamboree at Grand Beach Wednesday.

The Lakers finished with a team score of 178, which was 11 strokes better than runner-up Bridgman, which shot 189.

Brandywine was third (195), host New Buffalo fourth (204) and Buchanan fifth (212).

The Bees’ Nick Knowlton earned medalist honors after shooting 41.

Alec DeJonge led Brandywine with a 42, while Derek Wismer led Buchanan with a 49.
