GRANGER — Visiting Edwardsburg scored a pair of first half goal en route to a 3-0 non-league victory over Granger Christian in girls soccer Thursday.

Noelle Kraus opened the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute, which was assisted by Makayla Shaw.

The two switched places on the second Eddies’ goal with Shaw scoring in the 36th minute off an assist from Kraus.

Joelly Baldwin capped the scoring in the 68th minute on a penalty kick.

“The game was pretty smooth throughout,” Edwardsburg coach Brett Harring said. “There was not a lot of stoppage in play. Edwardsburg was able to welcome back three players who suffered season-ending injuries last spring — Payton Szlanfucht (Broken Leg), Olivia Freshour (Knee) and Gabi Fonseca (Knee).”

Edwardsburg (1-0) outshot Granger Christian 16-8. Eddies’ keepers Gabi Fonseca and Hailee Hebard did not record a save.
