The Cassopolis Board of Education elected new officers at its regular meeting at the Squires Education Center Monday night.

Scott Ward was re-elected board president. Sue Horstmann and George Calvert were re-elected secretary and treasurer respectively.

John Bright is the newly elected vice president.

The board also hired Erika Cooper for a non-instructional paraprofessional job at Sam Adams Elementary for two hours per day following successful completion of her probationary period.

At its Jan. 12 meeting, the board decided it would put out bids for its audit services. Four firms returned bids — Plante Moran, Yeo & Yeo, Abraham & Gaffney and Rehmann.

The board is expected to select a firm at its next regular meeting Feb. 9.
