He is lodged at the Berrien County Jail on an arrest warrant charging him with breaking and entering a building with intent to commit larceny and resisting and obstructing a police officer.

Taylor’s arrest stems from Tuesday’s break-in of the Rural King on South 11th Street in Niles.

Berrien County deputies were dispatched to the Rural King at around 1:13 a.m. in reference to an activated alarm.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the store had been broken into. Further information showed that three individuals were responsible for breaking into the store.

One of the deputies who responded to the scene observed a vehicle fleeing from the area. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Darek Jamal Bullock-Mills, 19, of Dowagiac; and Anthony D. Haynes, 19, of South Bend, Indiana, were two of the occupants in the vehicle. They were arrested for allegedly breaking into the store.

A third person, believed by police to by Taylor, fled the vehicle on foot and escaped apprehension.
