Brandywine starts slow, finishes fast against Beavers

A slow start could not keep the Brandywine boys basketball team from winning its fourth straight game Saturday night.

The Bobcats outscored visiting Eau Claire 39-24 in the second half to earn a 57-45 non-conference victory.

The win, which is Brandywine’s fifth in its last six games, raised the Bobcats’ record to 6-2.

The Bobcats and Beavers were deadlocked at 9-9 after one quarter, while Eau Claire led 21-18 at halftime.

Brandywine outscored the Beavers 21-2 in the pivotal third quarter to open up a 39-23 advantage.

Austin Knapp scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Bobcats, who also got 16 points from Andrew Duckett.

Nickoda Keefer had 18 points for Eau Claire. Kyrek Alexander added 14.
