Gingerbread Houses Galore

Beautiful gingerbread houses of all sizes and shapes made locally are now on exhibit at Fernwood. Categories include children, adult amateur, and professional. These tasty and colorful domiciles will be on display in Fernwood’s library for you to enjoy through Dec. 21. Free with paid Fernwood admission.

 

Dave Baker Exhibit: “Sentinels”

Friday, Dec. 12, through Sunday, Jan. 25

Artist’s Reception Sunday, Dec. 14, 4 to 6 p.m.

“Sentinels” is the title of an exhibit in Fernwood’s Gallery of new works by St. Joseph artist David Baker. The exhibition features 27 works in watercolor, oil, and charcoal. The show continues through Jan. 25.

 

Family Holiday Activities

Festive decorations, natural beauty, and family fun abound at Fernwood during December. Stop by for some holiday fun. Start with our Holiday Train Exhibit. See the holiday train and landmark buildings made of natural materials in the Fern Conservatory. On Dec. 13 and 14, watch ice carvers create magical sculptures along the garden trail. On Saturday, Dec. 13, enjoy music by Molly B. Moon, Riely O’Connor, and Robin Pixley. Then, on Sunday, Dec. 14, partake in holiday-themed children’s activities from 1 to 4 p.m., including a chance to visit Santa and to hear music by John Tolhuizen. Hot cocoa will be available for purchase. And, on Dec. 20 and 21, enjoy more children’s activities from 1 to 4 p.m., including storyteller Miss Cindy from 1 to 2 p.m. Hot cocoa will be available for purchase. Events are free with paid Fernwood admission.
