Niles Community Schools will be hosting community engagement sessions to bring into focus the needs and goals of the District regarding facilities and programs for the future. All community members are invited to learn about the condition of district facilities and engage in discussion about the district’s long-range facilities plan.

Meetings are scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following days:

• Session 1 — Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Niles High School Cafeteria, 1441 Eagle St.

• Session 2 — Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Ring Lardner Middle School Cafeteria, 801 N 17th St.

Over the past two months, the district has undergone a process to document building conditions, determine enrollment projections and identify building infrastructure needs and costs. The school environment, where teaching and learning take place, is a critical ingredient in creating quality education. These sessions will allow community members to become informed and to share views regarding district facilities.

Session 2 will build upon the previous meeting, so participants are encouraged to attend both sessions to help shape the future of education in the district.
