The Dowagiac varsity football team knows what it is up against as it must win the final three games of the season in order to reach the playoffs.

The Chieftains rolled over Coloma last Friday night for a Homecoming victory, but there are no easy games remaining on the schedule.

Starting with the Edwardsburg Eddies Friday night, Dowagiac most defeat a trio of teams with a combined record of 12-6.

The Eddies come into Friday night’s contest needing just one victory to advance to the state playoffs for the fifth straight season.

Edwardsburg also has revenge on its mind after Dowagiac eliminated the Eddies in the first round last season after being beaten by them handily during the regular season.

The Eddies are coming off a 34-22 win over South Haven, which was much closer than the final score indicates.

The two teams were deadlocked at 22-22 late in the fourth quarter.

Edwardsburg is led by quarterback Dante Razzano, who has been not only running the Wing-T to perfection, but throwing the ball extremely well when the Eddies drop back to pass.

Last week against the Rams, Razzano threw for a score and ran for another.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
