For the second straight year, art students at Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High School were asked to design and paint a snow plow.

Last year, the students painted a plow for the Cass County Road Commission.

This year, their job was to paint one for the St. Joseph County Road Commission.

The theme for the project was “What comes to mind when you think of Cass County.”

The students combined several thoughts into a single direction — patriotism, lakes, rolling hills, friendship and diversity.

“The youth of Cassopolis love their home,” teacher Shelly Johnson said. “This will be very apparent when you see this beautiful plow come down the road this winter. It was a pleasure guiding this group of students from concept, design, and then to the finished product.”
