Bobcats sweep Chieftains

Solid pitching and timely hitting lead the Brandywine baseball team to a sweep of visiting Dowagiac in non-conference action Thursday.

Matt Vaughn improved to 5-0 on the year as he scattered five hits in the Bobcats’ 4-2 win over the Chieftains in the opening game.

Chandler Plew went 3-for-4 and Fox doubled for the Bobcats.

In the nightcap, Cole Searles worked the first five innings earn the victory.

The Bobcats finished with eight hits, including doubles by Zach Grishaber, Kyle Duncan, Plew and Hunter Jankowiak.

Matt Smith doubled for one of Dowagiac’s three hits.
