The old Edwardsburg fire station has a new tenant.

Jayson and Angie King have opened Jayson’s Auto and Truck Service in the old station.

Picking the old fire station was easy for the long-time Edwardsburg residents since Jayson is a captain on the Edwardsburg Fire Department and Angie is active in the fire department auxiliary.

“The old fire station just felt like the right location,” Angie said. “We are so committed to the well-being of this community that when we decided to open up our own repair shop this just made sense.”

Jayson King brings 25 years of experience in the auto and truck repair business and is ASE/Michigan certified. He is also a member of the NAPA Auto Care Center Program.

Jayson’s will offer a complete line of service on domestic and imported vehicles as well as light and medium duty trucks. Their focus will be on the communities of Edwardsburg and Cassopolis.

The Kings are planning a full remodeling of the building with the outside receiving a fresh coat of paint, signage and a waiting room with complimentary coffee, bottled water, popcorn, free Wi-Fi and cable television.

“We want to cater to the local communities and offer a comfortable, professional waiting room if you wish to wait on your vehicle,” Jayson said. “When you enter our building we want you to feel at ease and not intimidated. We’re here to make your vehicle repair and maintenance as easy as possible.”

Jayson’s opened April 1.

“It was a good first month and I look forward to establishing myself in Edwardsburg for many years,” Jayson said.

A grand opening is planned once all the remodeling is complete.
