Wayne L. Barr, 79, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest on April 28, 2014, at his home after an illness.

He was born Feb. 8, 1935 in Mishawaka, Ind., the son of Charles and Blanche (Hinkson) Barr. The family moved to Edwardsburg and Wayne graduated from Edwardsburg High School.  He later joined the Navy Reserves at Great Lakes Naval Academy.

Wayne worked as a machinist for the former Bendix, now known as Honeywell, in the Aerospace Division. He had a real passion to play golf with his friends and enjoyed his fishing trips to Minnesota with his buddies.

Wayne met Ada M. Hole, a local Edwardsburg schoolmate, and they were united in marriage on Sept. 26, 1953 in the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church. Surviving are their two children, Stephen W. Barr of Midland and Valerie Weld of Cassopolis.

There are two grandchildren Danielle and Katie. Family who have passed are his parents, his beloved wife, Ada in 2007, his sisters, Doris Chapman, Joyce Hiemier and Evelyn Beckman, as well as two brothers, Larry and Donald.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
