Borgess-Lee Memorial honors its volunteers

Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital will honor 36 active health ministry volunteers during the hospital’s annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon at noon, Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

During the 2013 calendar year, Borgess-Lee volunteers donated over 3,600 hours of service to the hospital in such areas as the Surgery/SCU waiting room, Oncology Department, the lobby desk, making cookies for bake sales and ordering merchandise for the Borgess-Lee gift shop.

Volunteers will receive pins for hours of service. Qualified volunteers will also be honored with gold, silver and bronze medals from the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Eligible gold medal recipients are recognized for donating 500 or more hours to volunteer efforts, with Silver Medal winners recognized for 249 to 499 hours, and Bronze Medal winners recognized for donating 100 to 249 hours to volunteering.
