Open house planned for April 2 at Niles Community Health Center

Cassopolis Family Clinic Network will be offering an open house for the Community Health Center from 4 to 6 p.m. April 2. This event is open to the public.

The Niles community health center opened on Feb. 24 and is accepting new patients at 24 N. St. Joseph Ave., Suite G, Niles. It is located across the street from Niles Community Hospital. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Cassopolis Family Clinic Network operates as a federally funded community health center whose mission is to provide access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for the residents of Cass and Southeast Berrien Counties. Community health Centers are local, non-profit, community-owned providers of primary and preventive health care. They are located in medically underserved urban and rural communities in every state, including Michigan, and in every U.S. territory.

The fundamental principles on which Health Centers were established over 45 years ago are:

• Located in or serve medically underserved areas or populations

• Governed by a community board composed of 51 percent or more of health center patients who represent the population served

• Provide comprehensive primary health care services as well as support services that promote access to health care

• Provide services available to all with fees adjusted based on ability to pay

• Meet strict performance and accountability requirements as established by the federal government

CFCN is a certified agency able to assist with health insurance and Medicaid enrollment under the Affordable Care Act.
