Kindergarten registration for Brandywine Community Schools is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Merritt Elementary School, 1620 LaSalle Ave., Niles.

Children are eligible for kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year if they are five years of age by Oct. 1.

Parents should bring the child’s official birth certificate (not hospital), immunization records, the name and telephone number of the child’s doctor, proof of residency and emergency contact information.

Kindergarten teachers will be available to answer questions about the curriculum and kindergarten readiness screening. Information will be provided about immunization requirements, vision and hearing screenings.

This meeting is primarily for providing parents with information, completing registration forms and making appointments for assessments. It is not recommended that children accompany parents to the meeting.

Readiness and speech screenings will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 13-14.
