Buchanan defense too much for Lakeshore

BUCHANAN — The Buchanan pressure defense forced visiting Lakeshore into 34 turnovers in the Bucks’ 59-42 win over Lakeshore in non-conference boys basketball action Wednesday night.

The Bucks and Lancers were deadlocked at 10-10 after one quarter, but Buchanan (7-1) opened up a small 21-18 advantage at halftime.

In the second half the Bucks turned up the pressure and pulled away from Lakeshore (4-6), outscoring it 38-24.

Doug Freeman scored a game-high 22 points to lead Buchanan, which also got 13 points from Kevin Dey.

Dennis Jordan had 11 points for the Lancers.
