Second Baptist Church will hold their first ever “Deacon’s Day” event at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.

The event will focus on honoring the service that deacons provide to churches across the nation. Three deacons from churches around the region will speak at the ceremony: Amos Clark, former deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church; Randy Bacon, deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; and Elmer Wade, deacon at Second Baptist Church.

Second Baptist will also honor Abraham Jordan during the ceremony, who has served the church for 43 years.

The event is free, and open to all who wish to attend.
