The Cass County declaration of a local state of emergency that was put into effect Monday, Jan. 6, and continued into Tuesday had been lifted.

While the State of Emergency has been canceled, people should still take extreme caution when traveling roadways and be aware of extreme cold conditions.

If you plan on traveling, make sure that you have an emergency kit in your vehicle that includes water, blankets and food. Be sure to have the proper clothing available in case you become stranded in the extreme cold.
