The Niles freshmen football team defeated Mattawan 48-8 Thursday night.

The win improved the Vikings’ record to 5-2.

Niles ran for 407 behind the offensive line of Austin Curran, Noah Frantz, Jacob Harrison, Cody Glick and Clayton Nelson.

Cameron Haines scored on runs of 5-, 70- and 68-yards. Mitch Findeisen scored on runs of 65- and 23-yards.  Abijah Goodson had a 1-yard touchdown run.

Defensively, the Vikings were led by Jacob Harrison, Kenny Gathright, Cameron Caniff and Cody Glick. Dawson Clemens had an interception that he returned for 50 yards.
