SOUTH HAVEN — The Dowagiac varsity volleyball team was defeated by host South Haven 3-1 in Wolverine Conference play Thursday night.

The Rams defeated the Chieftains 25-15, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-17.

“Tonight they really worked on doing their best and not to beat up on themselves,” Dowagiac coach Sara Lawrence said. “They did that very well. Once we have a few mistakes they start second guessing themselves and then give up on themselves.

“The girls battled well tonight. I am proud of them for that. We are slowly, but surely coming together.”
