The Niles District Library is having its Family History Day Oct. 5.

This year’s conference is being held in partnership with the TreeClimbers genealogical group, a monthly gathering designed to be a resource for beginning genealogists. This year’s featured presenter is Diane Oslund, a professional genealogist and speaker from the Detroit area. She will cover topics of interest for any genealogist, regardless of experience:

• 10:30 a.m. — Mistakes Everywhere

Diane will show examples of mistakes found in vital records, obituaries, census records etc. and discuss ways to verify or correct the information.

• 11:30 a.m. — The Grave Yard Shift

Tips on how to find your ancestors burial site. Why bother? What can you find there?

• 1:30 p.m. — Where the Heck is it Anyway?

Tips on how to organize and store your genealogy papers and notes. Is there a better way?

• 2:30 p.m. — Berrien County Genealogical Society

Here’s what we have to offer…
