Marilyn Ropp

Died: Sept. 16, 2013

Marilyn Jean Ropp passed away on Sept. 16 from an extended illness.

Marilyn was born to Leo F. and Cleta Marie Cligh on May 27, 1931, in Kalamazoo.

She graduated in 1948 from Dowagiac Central High School and married Kenneth Carl Ropp on June 25, 1949.

Marilyn is survived by: her dearest children, daughter Lucinda Henderson (Nelson) of Stevensville and son Gregory Ropp of El Cajon, Calif.; Granddaughters, Samantha Henderson of Stevensville and Meredith Krugh (Jon), great-grandchildren, Kendra, Blain and Brianna Krugh of St. Joseph; nieces and nephew, Tim and Jeff (Patty) Hippensteel, Lisa Waalkes, Becky (Bob) Turner of Dowagiac, Lori (Greg) Shepard of Holland and their families; brother-in-law, Raymond Ropp of Kingston, N.Y.; niece, Linda Malinowski (Stanley) from Spring Valley, N.Y.; cousins, Gordon Slater of Mission Viejo, Calif., Phyllis Matteson of Schoolcraft and Nancy (Gregg) Greider of Lawton.

In addition, cousins of the Ropp and Garling family, Carl (Judy) Kopka and Larry Kopka from Francesville, Ind.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Leo and Marie Cligh; husband, Kenneth; and sister, Sharon Hippensteel, all of Dowagiac.

The family will have a graveside memorial service on Friday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. (near the maintenance building in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Cass County Council on Aging, 60525 Decatur Rd., P.O. Box 5, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
