Bobcats looking for 3-0 start

The Brandywine Bobcats have started the last three seasons at 3-0.

The Bobcats are hoping to run that streak to four years when it hosts New Buffalo in its home opener tonight.

Last season Brandywine edged the Bison 10-8 on its way to a 7-3 season and a spot in the post season.

So far in 2013, the Bobcats have defeated Hobert River Forest 29-6 and Centreville 49-0.

Brandywine has used both a ground attack and an aerial show in winning its first two contests.

Last week quarterback Andrew Duckett had a huge game for the ’Cats, throwing for 172 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for a 41-yard score.

The previous week, Brandywine’s Marty Ward ran for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Niles at Benton Harbor

Visiting Niles and Benton Harbor will both be in the market for their first wins of the season tonight.

The Tigers (0-2) have yet to score a point having lost to Battle Creek Central 15-0 and Battle Creek Lakeview 50-0.

After being shut out by Lakeview in Week 1, Niles found some offense, but still came up short in a 34-33 loss to Sturgis in its home opener.
