WATERVLIET – The Dowagiac varsity volleyball team outlasted host Watervliet 3-2 Tuesday night.

The Chieftains defeated the Panthers 18-25, 25-24, 17-25, 28-26 and 15-6.

“Gabby Leonard was tops in assists tonight,” Dowagiac coach Sarah Lawrence said. “She did a great job. The girls never gave up tonight they battled it out. We should have taken them in the first three sets, but my girls stayed and battled very proud of them.”

 

JV volleyball

The Dowagiac JV volleyball team fell to the Panthers in three sets, 19-25, 15-15 and 15-10.

Leading the Chieftains tonight were Alyssa Allen with six serves, three blocks and two kills.  Taylor Hullett had five serves and one kill, McKinzie Kiggins contributed three serves and two kills, Gabby Harrison had three serves and Anne Zabelle had three serves.

Leading with passes was Kourtney Mitchell and Mara Nelson.
