Brandywine trio academic all-state

A trio of Brandywine track standouts have been named to the Academic All-State team.

Graduates Michael Shelton and Evan Hartman, along with junior Andrew Duckett were named Academic All-State by the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association (MITCA).

Brandywine, Standish-Sterling, Charlevoix and Hanover-Horton all had three members of the team. There were 12 seniors, 10 juniors and three sophomores honored by MITCA.

Shelton was sixth in both the 100-meters and 400-meter relay. Hartman won the state championship in the discus with a record-setting toss, while Duckett was sixth in the 400-meter relay.
