A two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Volinia Township injured an Indiana couple.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office was called at 10:46 a.m. July 9 to investigate the accident at the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Decatur Road.

A northbound vehicle driven by Ronald Severns, 80, of Mentone, Ind., failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by Frank Ross, 59, of Marcellus.

Severns and his wife, Lillian, were transported by ambulance to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. Ross was treated at the scene and released.

Deputies said seatbelts were used and alcohol is not a factor.

This case remains under investigation.

Wayne Township Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance assisted the sheriff’s office.
