Vandenberg wins first JGA stop

Eau Claire’s Andy Vandenberg, who finished fourth in the Division 4 state golf finals last weekend, captured the first stop of the Lakeshore Junior Golf Association Tour at Hampshire Country Club Monday.
Vandenberg shot 75 to edge Andrew Polaskey by two strokes. Polaskey finished with a 77.
Michael Fegan was third with a 79, while Taylor Kizer and Sam Spear tied for fourth with an 81.
Dowagiac’s Christian Hess, who also competed in the state golf finals, finished with an 83. Dowagiac’s Jordan Hagemann shot 87 and Jorday Juday 88.
Sutton Dunwoodie won the boys 13-15 with a 75.
Casey Lamp won the girls 16-18 division with a 76, while Cailey Rooker was the winner in the girls 13-15 division with a 91.
Next stop on the Lakeshore JGA is Monday at Orchard Hills Country Club near Niles.
