Longtime employee Stefanie Woodrick has resigned from the position of zoning administrator for Niles Charter Township.

The township’s board of trustees accepted Woodrick’s two-week notice during Monday’s regular meeting.

Woodrick’s last day is June 28.

Trustee Richard Cooper said Woodrick has been with the township for more than 10 years, starting as a part-time employee before moving up the ranks.

“She did everything,” said Woodrick in reference to her work in the zoning department.

Cooper was not aware Monday if Woodrick was leaving for another job, or for some other reason.

“It’s always difficult to lose talented employees,” said Supervisor Jim Stover, who laid out several options for filling Woodrick’s role.

Stover said the township could choose to leave the position open or hire a new zoning administrator. Also, Stover said he has been asking other area supervisors if they had employees that could help fill the role.

Stover said Woodrick’s department is currently running a deficit. Not replacing her would save around $40,000.
