A large meth making site in Milton Township was shutdown by the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team Wednesday night.

The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team was called to the 29000 block of Follmer Road in Milton Township near Niles at approximately 8:30p.m. The landlord of a residence had discovered what he thought was a methamphetamine lab in a residence that he was renting out and had contacted Cass County Central Dispatch.

A subsequent search of the residence by narcotics investigators uncovered numerous items that had been used and were being used to manufacture methamphetamine for use and sale. This included 47 ‘one pot’ meth labs, 56 gas generators in various stages of activity and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Due to the large number of labs and other items used for the manufacture of meth found at the residence, the Michigan State Police Methamphetamine Team assisted in the disposal and cleanup.

The residents of the house (one male and one female) were arrested and lodged in the Cass County Jail on charges related to the manufacturing, sale and use of methamphetamine.

The names of the persons arrested will be released upon their arraignment in Cass County Fourth District Court Friday.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this or other narcotics related crimes should contact the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team at (800) 462-9328 or leave an anonymous tip at www.ccso.info.
