Bobcats tune up for districts with win over Shamrocks

The Brandywine softball team tuned up for Saturday’s Division 3 District Tournament with a 10-0 win over Berrien Springs Wednesday.

Mikayla Kemp tossed a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. Kemp also hit a home run for the Bobcats.

Brandywine (27-10) finished with 14 hits, including three by Michaela Hartline, who also drove in four runs. Rachael Ort, Victoria Ebersol and Sydney Carlson all had two hits for the Bobcats.

Brandywine will make the short trip over to Buchanan for the district semifinal Saturday.

The Bobcats will take on archrival Buchanan in the second semifinal at noon. Cassopolis and Bridgman will play the first semifinal at 10 a.m. The championship game is slated for 2 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person and no passes will be honored.
