DeJonge medalist, Bobcats finish third as a team

Alec DeJonge may have won the battle, but his Brandywine golf team lost to war.

Bridgman won yet another Lakeland Conference jamboree as the Bees shot 191 at Orchard Hills Country Club Monday.

Cassopolis was second with a 209 and Brandywine third with a 216. Host Buchanan finished with a 229.

DeJonge, who currently leads the league in stroke average, finished with a 44 Monday to earn medalist honors.

Chance Smith shot 52, Alex Shelton 57, Robert Okayama 63 and Nathan Hechtl 64 for the Bobcats.

Austin Fitzsimmons led the Rangers with a round of 45.

Lodan McPherson shot 51 to pace the Bucks.
