MARCELLUS — Mikayla Kemp tossed a no-hitter in the opening game as visiting Brandywine swept a pair of non-league softball games from Marcellus Monday.

The Bobcats blanked the Wildcats 18-0 in the first game and then completed the sweep with a 15-3 win. The second game lasted just six innings due to rain.

Kemp struck out two and walked just one in the five-inning contest.

Everything was working at the plate for the Bobcats in the first. Brandywine’s bats caught fire leading to 10 runs.

The Bobcats easily handled Marcellus pitching as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Brandywine matched its four-run second inning with four more in the fourth.

Makenna Hartline opened the game with a solo home run. She also added a double as she was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Kemp was also 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Kelly Harper was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Justine Sater, Michaela Hartline and Katelyn Dolgos all drove in two runs. Michaela Hartline, Maranda Smallmon and Dolgos all doubled for the Bobcats.

In the nightcap, Brandywine refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Marcellus, recording a 15-3 victory.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Bobcats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by Justine Sater during the first inning and an RBI double by Makenna Hartline, a groundout by Rachael Ort and an error in the second inning fueled Bobcats’ offense early.

Michaela Hartline racked up three RBIs on three hits for Bobcats.

Brandywine easily handled Marcellus pitching as six hitters combined for eight hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Makenna Hartline and Harper both homered for the Bobcats.

Kemp picked up the victory as she scattered five hits and struck out seven.
