MARCELLUS — Kyle Duncan was strong at the plate and on the hill in carrying Brandywine to a 30-1 victory over host Marcellus Monday.

The second game was postponed due to rain.

Duncan boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate to pace the Bobcats. He doubled in the second and third innings and singled in the third inning.

Marcellus’ lineup had no answer for Duncan. Duncan held the Wildcats hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four.

“I was real happy with our patience at the plate,” Brandywine coach David Sidenbender said. “It was nice to get out and play. It’s just so difficult to get a gauge on how we are progressing with this weather and the spotty play, but I can see good things happening, so we will continue to move forward.”

Thirty runs in three innings allowed Brandywine to easily put away Marcellus.

A passed ball, an RBI single by Alec Nichols, an RBI single by Tom Newton, a passed ball, an RBI single by Brian Kline, and an RBI single by Mike Pancoast during the first inning

An RBI double by Nichols, an RBI single by Newton, a two-run error, an RBI double by Duncan, an RBI single by Kyle Basly, a wild pitch, an RBI double by Nichols and a wild pitch in the second inning fueled a nine-run second inning.

The Bobcats scored 14 runs in the third inning to end the game via the mercy rule.

Brandywine pounded Marcellus pitching, as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, 16 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
