Dowagiac Board of Education March 18 approved an early retirement incentive.

“The incentive is $10,00 per teacher. If six teachers took the buyout, through attrition, the savings would be $450,000,” Supt. Dr. Mark Daniel said Tuesday.

Daniel told the school board Monday night at the middle school that eligible educators must have 10 years experience or be at step 10 or above on the pay scale.
