Anthony “Tim” Wayne Ridenour, 65

Born: Sept. 17, 1947

Died: Jan. 14, 2013

Tim’s life began on Sept. 17, 1947, in Kalamazoo, the son of Virgil D. and Winifred (Sewalk) Ridenour.

Tim, 65, of Shelbyville, served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

Tim was an excellent woodworker and carpenter, making several pieces of furniture for family and friends. He was a trained restaurant chef.

He was a tribal citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.

He is survived by: his nephews, Andy, Ernie and Brian Ridenour, all of Dowagiac; nieces, Kelli Ridenour and Tonya Calamari of Kalamazoo.

Tim passed away at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Battle Creek on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Henry and Vic Ridenour; and sisters, Patricia Ridenour Dodd and Marjorie Ridenour.

His family will gather with friends on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where his funeral service at 6 will be led by Pastor Stacy Wilder of Calvary Bible Church.

He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart (Silver Creek) Cemetery at a later date.
