CASSOPOLIS — Marcellus Junior/Senior High School recently opened The Cat Shack, a school store where students sell snacks, school supplies and logo items.

Midwest Energy Cooperative sponsored the effort, working in partnership with students on the Principal’s Advisory Council (PAC) to plan and initially stock the store.

PAC is comprised of students who are active not only in the school, but in the community as well.

They organize fundraisers, food drives and clothing/coat drives for local charitable organizations.

Proceeds from Cat Shack sales will be used to restock the store and provide donations and support to charities in the community.

Midwest Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility providing electric distribution and an assortment of energy-related programs and services to more than 35,000 customers in 11 counties in southern Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio.
