The Brandywine girls basketball program is no stranger to playing special games.

For the past several years the Bobcats have gone “pink” in order to help raise money for breast cancer awareness.

This Friday night, Brandywine will host the Hartford Indians in a game that will recognize all the active military and veterans that defend our country and the freedoms we enjoy.

The R.E.D. (Rembering Everyone Deployed) game is free to all active military and veterans with their military identification.

The Brandywine basketball program sold more than 200 special red t-shirts in honor of the event. The Dowagiac National Guard Color Guard will present the Flag before tip-off.

The Brandywine Athletic Boosters and team parents will be providing hot dogs and cookies to the active military and veterans in attendance as well.

During halftime of the varsity game, the military personnel will be introduced.

The JV game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at approximately 7 p.m. The festivities will begin prior to the varsity contest.
