The Village of Cassopolis reported a sewer spill Wednesday at Don Horne Park.

An estimated amount of less than 10,000 gallons was discharged onto the ground due to an anomalous break that occurred in a 12-inch force main.

Turner’s Sewer and Septic Service and Vaughn’s Septic Service were called in to keep the flow under control while Selge Construction repaired the break.

No surface water was effected by this spill, and disinfectant lime was put on the ground affected, according to Ben Anderson, the superintendent of the Cassopolis Department of Public Works.
