Wrestling roundup: Bobcats take Vicksburg crown

VICKSBURG — Led by senior Chanc Ravish, who picked up his 150th career victory, the Brandywine wrestling team went 5-0 to win the Vicksburg Invitational Saturday.

The Bobcats (5-2) defeated Coloma 58-18. Vicksburg 53-21, Dowagiac 73-6, Three Rivers 59-15 and Hopkins 66-18.

Going undefeated on the day for Brandywine were Ravish, Jesse Lochmondy, Victor Moranchel, Paul Lochmondy, Joe Monica and Charlie Rodriguez.

Allegan Southwest Classic

ALLEGAN — The Niles varsity wrestling team finished second at the Allegan Southwest Classic Saturday.

Allegan, ranked No. 4 in Division 2, won its own invitational, while the Vikings were second. Whitehall, ranked No. 3 (Division 3) was third, Shelby, ranked No. 5 in Division 3 was fourth, Otsego, ranked No. 8 in Division 2, was fourth and Lowell, ranked  2 in Division 2, was fifth.

Winning championships for the Vikings were Nicholas Zimmerman, Fritzel Findeisen and Ryan Casey.

Second-place finishes were recorded by Warren Smith and Casey Burandt, while Derek Scott was third. Finishing fourth were Josh Dayhuff, Noah Hall and Jerricho Lamberton.

 

Wyoming Kelloggsville Invitational

WYOMING — The Buchanan wrestling team went 5-0 to win the Wyoming Kelloggsville Invitational Saturday.

Grant was second at 4-1.

Going undefeated on the day for the Bucks were Hakeem King, Jeff Mucha, Patrick Wheetley, Alex Brown, Jim DeVlaminck and Gage Hutchison.
