46th Turkey Trot Nov. 19 at SMC

For the 46th year, Southwestern Michigan College will host the Turkey Trot.

Southwestern Michigan’s oldest race, the Turkey Trot will be held Nov. 19 on the Roadrunner trails located on the college’s Dowagiac campus beginning at 4:30 p.m.

High school cross-country teams are invited to participate at no cost. Members of the community are also welcome to participate for a race fee of $10 per person, which includes a T-shirt. The open race will be an 8K (5-mile) run, a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk, and a 3K (1.9 miles) Fun Run.

Register online at www.swmich.edu/turkeytrot. Community members can pay on race day but are encouraged to pre-register online. Checks can be made to Southwestern Michigan College/Turkey Trot. Add an extra $2 for XX-large size shirts.

Race day registration will begin at 3 p.m. and will remain open until 4:15 p.m. at the Student Activity Center off the Dailey Road parking lot. Refreshments will be available during the awards ceremony after the race.
