Charles Lawrence Knoll, 80, of Niles, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Niles. He was a lifetime area resident.

He was a devoted husband, intense family man and an avid Notre Dame fan. He worked at National-Satandard for 35 years.

He is survived by daughters, Nina (Vladimir Kuperwasser) Knoll and Beth Rosenthal; sons, Chuck (Debby) Knoll, Kevin (Lezlie) Knoll, Jim (Kim) Knoll; and grandchildren, Chuck, Kayla, Pierce, Katelyn, Nick and Jack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and daughter, Maureen.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge in Niles.
